From Confused Beginner to Conscious Creator: My Skin Care Journey

Hi, I’m Felipe.

You probably don’t know me — I’m just a regular person living a regular life. Like many, I have habits that are both good and bad. I go to the gym regularly, but I also smoke. I eat healthy most of the time, but yes, I enjoy a good drink, and a lot of sweet stuff too. I worked for over a decade in the corporate world as a Business Analyst and Product Manager in a bank. Then life took me on a new path — I went on to study Kinesiology and Biomechanics in New York City. I’ve lived in four countries across three continents. Today, I call Germany my new home.

But one of the most unexpected and fulfilling journeys I’ve taken has been through skin care.

I started at 23, with no clue what I was doing. I didn’t know which product to choose, what ingredients to look for, or what my skin even needed. A friend (Thanks a lot, Eric!) introduced me to a well-known skincare brand, and when I saw it work, my curiosity bloomed.

I dove deep. I began researching ingredients, skin types, pH balance, and the science behind what we put on our skin. I tried countless products — and learned, often the hard way, what worked for my skin and what didn’t. Some irritated, some helped, but none ever felt like the one.

Then, a colleague invited me to a natural cosmetics workshop. That workshop changed everything. I started making my own skincare from scratch — first soaps, then shampoos, lotions, balms, and eventually, face care. It wasn’t perfect. I failed. A lot. But with each mistake, I learned. After six long years, I finally formulated products that worked — for me. And I never looked back.

Since that moment, I’ve never bought industry-made skincare again. I’ve only used what I make myself.

When I moved to Germany three years ago to be with my husband, I hoped to find my place quickly. Despite my qualifications and experience, I couldn’t even get an interview. I even studied UX Design here in Germany with the hope that MAYBE, with a German-accredited educational institution, I could finally land a Job. The first year was tough. I had to learn the language, the culture, and I fought so hard with all my strength and discipline just to fit in. For two years, rejection wore me down. Depression crept in, and I hit rock bottom. I became unmotivated, and I felt like I was at the end of the line. But I made a decision — I would not rely on government money. I believe in contributing to this society, not taking from it. I owe it to the country, and to its good citizens that accepted me as their own.

So I asked myself: What can I build with what I already have?

With my background in human anatomy and fitness, I opened Zensations Holistic Therapy, offering massage services focused on relieving pain and tension. But I knew I had more to give. I studied Holistic Facial Therapy, found a lab that could ethically reproduce my formulas, and brought my skincare into the business — not with hype, but with intention.

And now, at 40, people often ask how I keep my skin looking the way it does. I’ve shared my habits, my lifestyle, my routines — but the one thing I couldn’t share was my skin care. Because it wasn’t available anywhere.

Until now.

Now, I’m opening that door. Not just as a business move, but as an offering to the community that embraced me. You can now experience the skincare I’ve trusted, refined, and created with care — not made for the masses, but made for real skin, real people, and real self-love.

If you’re curious to see the difference for yourself, I invite you to try my handcrafted formulas through one of my holistic facial therapy treatments — tailored with intention, powered by nature, and rooted in everything I’ve learned over the years. Or, explore the full range and bring the glow home by visiting skinsations-skincare.de.

Your skin deserves more than hype — it deserves honesty, harmony, and results.

Let me share mine with you. 💛
